Michael Siebel studied geoecology with a focus on waste water technology, bioengineering, hydrogeology and geochemistry at the University of Karlsruhe. He also graduated from University of Montpellier, France as a geologist and upon completion of his studies expanded his language skills in a consulting engineering firm in Santiago de Chile.

Before starting his career in intellectual property law, Michael Siebel worked eight years as an environmental expert and planner for a major engineering consultancy firm for projects in the fields of environmental impact assessment, environmental due diligence and contaminated sites in Germany and abroad. He also participated in technical infrastructure planning and design projects.

Michael Siebel joined Hofstetter, Schurack & Partner in 2007 and was admitted as representative before the European Patent Office in 2011 and as German Patent Attorney since 2014. He is mainly concerned with drafting applications of technical property rights and with their prosecution, both before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office.

Mr. Siebel is in particular familiar with motor vehicle technology.
He speaks German, English, French and Spanish.
