Dr. Daniel Börger studied chemistry with a focus on biochemistry at the Eberhard-Karls University Tübingen and the Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz. For his diploma thesis at the faculty of biochemistry in Mainz he analyzed the binding behavior of glycoproteins to epithelial cells. Moreover Dr. Börger completed additional training to be a wine chemist. 

After completing his chemistry studies Dr. Börger developed gas chromatographic analysis methods for determining volatile alcohols in wine at the Agriculture and Forestry Test Center Laimburg in Italy. In a subsequent scientific position at the Faculty of Food Chemistry of the Technical University Munich Dr. Börger was concerned with structure cause relationships of homologous aromatic substances.

Subsequently Dr. Börger worked as a freelance developer and consultant in the field of aroma research.

Since the beginning of 2006 Dr. Börger works in the field of Intellectual Property Law with Hofstetter, Schurack & Partner. His focus is on issues from the fields of chemistry, motor vehicle technology, and medical technology. Since 2009 Dr. Börger is also admitted as representative before the European Patent Office.

In 2014 he successfully completed a Master Course in „IP Law and Management“ at Strasbourg University as "Master of Laws" (LL.M.).

He speaks German, English, and French.
