Mr. Horn studied electrical engineering focussed on communications engineering at the Kaiserslautern University from 1983 through 1989. During his studies, which were directed to coding and high frequency engineering, he was additionally entrusted with engineering of static inverters and parallel operation of power semiconductors. He designed a specialized inverter using parallel operated MOSFET’s for a certain joint research project in the field of electric power supply. For the same project, he researched field displacement processes in high power electric machines and developed a respective computer program.

From 1989 through 1999, he worked in the industry, especially the household appliance industry, where he was entrusted with the development of induction heating for domestic use. In this capacity, Mr. Horn wrote publications and made several inventions.

In 1999, Mr. Horn started his activity in the field of intellectual property protection. Since 2011 he has been admitted as representative before the European Patent Office, and since 2015 as representative before the German Patent and Trademark Office. He is member of the German Patent Bar, the European Patent Bar, and the VDE (German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies).

Mr. Horn’s practice is focused on preparing applications as well as the prosecution and enforcement of intellectual property rights, in particular of national and international patents and utility models.
