Michael Ziemann studied physics with materials science as minor subject at the University of Munich. In his diploma thesis at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa) in Thun he analyzed fatigue in copper thin films using scanning electron microscopy.
After his studies in physics, he worked as a PhD student at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). During his doctoral studies, he analyzed dislocation structures in twisted gold micro wires. The analyses were performed using micro Laue diffraction at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (Grenoble), the Advanced Light Source (Berkeley) and the Canadian Light Source (Saskatoon).
Mr. Ziemann has been active in the field of intellectual property protection since he joined Hofstetter, Schurack & Partner in 2016.
